What is jitter clicking?

Jitter clicking means tensing your arm so your finger shakes quickly on the mouse button. Good jitter clickers reach 10 to 14 CPS. Keep tests short and stop if your arm hurts.

What is a good CPS?

Most people click around 6 to 8 CPS. 10 CPS is fast, 12 to 14 CPS usually needs jitter or butterfly clicking, and anything above 16 CPS is elite. Over very short tests (1 to 5 seconds) scores run higher because your hand hasn’t tired yet.

How to click faster

Rest your wrist on the desk and click from the finger, not the arm. Try a lighter mouse with a crisp switch. Warm up with a few short tests, then practice the length you care about. Jitter clicking (tensing your forearm so your finger vibrates) and butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers) both raise your CPS, but take breaks so your hand doesn’t hurt.
